There are so many favorite colors I'll narrow it down to a few. Turquoise for decorating. We live near the beach and it fits so well with our natural surroundings. Yellow in the kitchen is a must for me! Always sunny in our gathering room! Orange on the beach..if I'm beach combing and a bit of orange catches my eye it's usually a happy find! Last but not least...pink. My mom loved pink and it always gives me a warm feeling..a happy memory of my sweet mom!

All of those colors are making me smile! I love how a color can bring up memories and emotions for us. Thank you so much for sharing, Martha!

One of my earliest memories of color is being outside surrounded by various hues of green. Although too young to understand plant life, the translucent canopies of trees felt alive, as well as the shimmering shades of blades of grass, leaves of flowers, and even wispy and wobbly weeds. I would become mesmerized, noticing the opaque and transparent leaves as light sparkled and danced of and through their surfaces, and the fuzzy or smooth textures of the green wonderland world, which was actually just a typical, suburban backyard.

Wow, Leslie! Such a vivid memory, and so soothing. Do you have a sense for your age? Isn't it wonderful what we can find in our own backyards? Thank you for sharing. :)

I was somewhere between 3-4 years old, but recall feeling like I was in a vibrant green fairy tale until 5 or 6. I wish it still (always) felt so magical to be outdoors!

I remember always loving pink - I still do, all shades! My sister and I were treated like twins with matching clothes. I always got pink and Sue always got blue 😊

Pink is one of my favorite colors, too! Does Sue have a love of blue like you do for pink?

No book for me cuz I already have one--have bought more than one. 😊 But my earliest color memory is my mom painting the kitchen cabinets in our teeny tiny house (living and kitchen area was all one) chartreuse. Then one time while they were gone, I used the leftover paint to paint the screen porch. I don't remember how old I was, but I'm pretty sure it was an awful job. I did not get in trouble.

OH! That is a fun story! It seems like you felt the porch needed a SPLASH of color.... or even SPLASHES! ;)

You've reminded me of a color story - my uncle secretly painted our white garage door a bright kelly green while we were away on vacation! We pulled into the driveway well after dark and were all completely shocked when the headlights hit that bright green door! Everyone had a huge laugh over that, and he did not get in trouble either. He was a prankster who loved making a point of the fact that my mom was Irish! HA HA!

Thank you for buying the books! And for your wonderful chartreuse story... and for helping me remember my kelly green story!

Oh, I'll bet that was a surprise! Ha. (He also could have covered that white door with green shamrocks. ;) )

Who would say "no!" to a copy of A is for Azure: The Alphabet in Colors! of course everyone wants to have their own copy of this illustrated book since there was no single page posted online yet the reviews are saying that it's a must have. Everyone is quite ecstatic to have their own copy, and it's a good thing that you gave us a chance own it! I am willing to exert any kind of effort just to have this! Hopefully, I can win this competition.
